Transparent & Project-Specific
Flexible Branding & Manufacturing MOQ Guide
Understand the drop-stitch raw material physics that govern SUP production runs — and how our low-barrier co-branding program works for rental operators, clubs, resorts and growing water sports brands. Engineered and operated by Qingdao Vatrad Group Co., Ltd.
MOQ is not a one-size-fits-all number. Every MOQ is confirmed by project configuration: hull shape and tooling, colorways and PVC, artwork complexity, packaging and accessory mix. Full-custom volume production runs 90–100 units per batch from a standard 150 m drop-stitch fabric roll; small-batch co-branding starts from 5–10 units; and every project is split into three distinct stages — sample development (1–2 units), pilot order (20–50 units) and volume production (90–100+ units). We confirm the exact calculation for your SKU mix before quotation — no vague "low MOQ" promises, no hidden compromises.

Why Standard Volume MOQ Is 90–100 Units: Raw Material Roll Physics
Production run sizes are not arbitrary numbers set by a sales team — they are determined by raw drop-stitch fabric roll lengths and line changeover physics.
The 150-meter raw fabric baseline. High-tensile woven drop-stitch fabric is produced and coated on continuous master rolls. The standard single-batch industrial roll length is 150 meters of continuous material.
The yield calculation (90 to 100 boards). For a standard touring or all-around SUP hull (10 ft 6 in to 11 ft 6 in), a full 150 m master roll yields approximately 90 to 100 finished paddle boards.
Zero fabric splice policy. Full fabric rolls ensure complete structural continuity — no transverse high-risk fabric splicing, and uniform fiber tension across the board's top and bottom surfaces.
Thermal and adhesive calibration. Automated high-frequency hot-air welding and marine adhesive laminating lines require 2 hours of pre-heating, temperature profiling and pressure calibration. A full 90–100 unit batch amortizes these fixed setup costs, delivering the lowest possible per-unit cost.
Two Routes to Your Brand
Full-Custom Volume OEM vs Small-Batch Co-Branding
One factory, two entry points: full-custom mass production for established lines, and a low-barrier co-branding program for clubs, rental hubs and growing brands.
Full-Custom Volume OEM — 90–100 Units per Batch
Determined by the standard 150 m roll length of high-grade raw drop-stitch fabric to ensure optimal material utilization and structural consistency. · 100% full customization: exclusive hull shape and custom Pantone colorways · Full-surface digital or silk-screen artwork coverage · Custom branded retail packaging, printed cartons and branded accessories · Maximum cost efficiency and economies of scale

Three Distinct Quantity Stages
Sample, pilot and volume production quantities are different. Every project is categorized into three distinct tiers so you validate before you commit.
- 01
Sample Development (1–2 units)
Physical confirmation of hull rigidity, EVA traction pad texture, graphic accuracy and accessory fitment before any financial commitment. Sample fees apply and are credited toward your production order upon contract sign-off.
- 02
Pilot Order (20–50 units)
Pre-season commercial testing and regional market validation using existing hull platforms, stock materials and simplified packaging to minimize setup friction.
- 03
Volume Production (90–100+ units)
Confirmed after frozen BOM, finalized artwork, custom packaging and scheduled delivery plans — full 150 m fabric rolls, custom Pantone fabrics, bespoke packaging, volume discounts and full-chain batch traceability.
What Drives Your MOQ
Why Full-Custom MOQ Is Always Project-Specific
For 100% bespoke manufacturing, MOQ is calculated from the complete product architecture — these four components are evaluated together before quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions About MOQ
Is MOQ calculated per order, per model, or per colorway?+
MOQ may apply per model, colorway, artwork version, packaging configuration or total order. Because different drop-stitch thicknesses (12 cm vs 15 cm) and PVC colors come from distinct raw material rolls, ordering 50 boards split across 5 colors creates 5 separate fabric roll requirements. We confirm the exact calculation against your SKU matrix before quotation so you can plan your mix clearly.
Can I order a sample before bulk production?+
Yes. Sample development (1–2 units) verifies hull rigidity, EVA traction pad texture, graphic accuracy and accessory fitment before mass production release. Sample fees apply and are credited toward your production order upon contract sign-off.
Why does custom retail packaging have an independent MOQ?+
Custom flexographic or offset carton printing presses require a minimum production setup of 500+ units. We offer a Hybrid Packaging Storage Solution: we produce the 500 custom-printed cartons, store the surplus in our clean warehouse, and release them across your scheduled board shipments — so a smaller board order can still ship in fully branded retail packaging.
Why is the standard volume MOQ 90–100 units?+
Standard volume MOQ follows the raw material: a 150 m master roll of high-grade drop-stitch fabric yields approximately 90–100 finished boards for a standard touring or all-around hull. Running full rolls eliminates fabric splicing, keeps fiber tension uniform, and amortizes the 2-hour welding and lamination line calibration — delivering the lowest possible per-unit cost.
Does a higher quantity reduce unit cost?+
In most projects, yes. Higher quantities improve material yield, distribute fixed production line setup overhead across more boards, and reduce per-unit packaging costs.
Do co-branding mould fees apply again on re-orders?+
No. Screen-printing mould fees are charged once on initial setup and are waived for re-orders using the same artwork dimension. You only pay the $1.00 USD per board factory handling and printing fee.
Does requesting MOQ guidance commit me to an order?+
No. Requesting project MOQ guidance simply allows our engineering team at Qingdao Vatrad Group Co., Ltd. to review your technical brief and advise the most cost-effective production path. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is available before you share proprietary technical specifications or artwork.
